Site stakeholder groups (SSGs) represent the viewpoints of Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) site communities. Everyone is welcome to attend SSG meetings to share their views, ask questions and be a part of the conversation.
Who we are
What are SSGs?
SSGs and Local Community Liaison Councils (LCLCs) were established over 20 years ago to facilitate open and transparent stakeholder engagement between nuclear site communities, the nuclear site operator, nuclear site regulators and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
Who is the nuclear site operator?
Nuclear Restoration Services – a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority responsible for safely decommissioning the first generation nuclear and research sites across the UK and restoring the sites for all our futures.
Who are the nuclear site regulators?
The Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and the Office for Nuclear Regulation.
Who is the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority?
It is charged, on behalf of government, with the mission to clean-up the UK’s earliest nuclear sites safely, securely and cost effectively.
