I am a former Army Officer, retired Test and Evaluation Consultant and a long-standing member of East Stoke Parish Council.  Prior to Local Government reorganisation in 2019, I was also the member for the Winfrith & Lulworth Ward of Purbeck District Council.

In 2016, I was elected Vice Chair of Winfrith site stakeholder group and elected as Chair in 2020.  I have played an active role in representing the interests of the community around the Winfrith site which is largely due to be returned to heathland once decommissioning is complete and the end state achieved. I am also keen to support the regeneration of that part of the original site which has already been given over to form the Dorset Innovation Park and to see the creation of new high paid jobs.

As we enter the final stages there will be interesting challenges requiring detailed and comprehensive stakeholder engagement to take into account a variety of different needs and aspirations. As this will include the Army ranges at Lulworth my previous experience working with the Ministry of Defence will I feel be beneficial. Similarly, I am aware of the need to conserve the natural beauty of this part of Dorset.
