Historic moment at Trawsfynydd

This summer, we witnessed the final ever external survey of the site’s iconic reactor buildings – carried out by a dedicated team of specialist abseilers.

For over a decade, these high-level surveys have been vital to our maintenance and safety programme, enabling us to assess the condition of the structures and carry out essential works.  The sight of abseilers descending the towering structures became a symbol of care, expertise and precision.

This last survey marks the start of a new chapter in the site’s transformation journey as we prepare for the reactor height reduction project to begin.
