Berkeley SSG visit
On Wednesday 8 November, Site Director, Mike Heaton, welcomed the Site Stakeholder Group (SSG) members, John Stanton (Chair) and Steve Chandler (Vice Chair) to site and presented an informative update on the latest developments and progress of the site.
Visitors also had the opportunity to explore the Vault Retrievals Control Room. It was fascinating to witness the advanced technology and systems in place to ensure the safe and efficient retrieval of the waste. Timing was perfect to also watch the waste operations team preparing a concrete box for delivery to the Interim Storage Facility (ISF).
Mike Heaton said: “It was a pleasure to welcome John and Steve to site. It provided an excellent opportunity to update them on the latest developments. We welcome the chance to hear feedback from local residents and find ways to work together during the next stages of our growing business. I would like to thank all staff that were involved in making the visit a success.”
John and Steve left the site with a renewed sense of appreciation for the dedication and expertise of the site personnel. John Stanton said: “Steve and I were delighted to see Mike back at work.” Overall, the visit was a resounding success.
