Summer botany walk

A summer botany walk for Wylfa site employees shone the light on how nature is thriving at Wylfa head nature reserve – adjacent to the site.

Over the course of the tour, the group were introduced to over 42 different species of wildflowers, grasses & lichens.  Northern marsh orchids, smith’s pennywort and other rarities were also found.

Stars of the show

Pale flax – a first record for Anglesey

Knotted clover – which hasn’t been spotted at Wylfa head since 1955

The event showcased how the great conservation work between NRS and Horizon Nuclear Power is paying dividends.
