Berkeley Primary School makeover

A team of 16 enthusiastic volunteers from Berkeley site recently rolled up their sleeves for a special two-day volunteering initiative at Berkeley Primary School. With valuable support from colleagues at Mitie, the group dedicated their time and energy to revitalising the school’s outdoor spaces – just in time for the new term.

From the moment they arrived, it was all hands-on deck. The team worked tirelessly to repaint playground equipment, refresh benches with vibrant colours, and install new table tennis tables and basketball nets – creating exciting new opportunities for active play and physical wellbeing.

But the creativity didn’t stop there. The volunteers also built a mud kitchen – a firm favourite for imaginative play – and constructed a charming outdoor stage, offering children a space to express themselves through performance and storytelling.
