Sarah Johnston from Whiteleys Retreat visited Hunterston A site to receive a cheque for £1,746, raised through the site’s fundraising efforts throughout 2025 – a brilliant example of colleagues coming together to support causes that really matter.

Whiteleys Retreat provides free respite breaks and ongoing support to children, young people and families across Scotland who are affected by cancer or other life‑limiting illnesses. For many, this support offers vital time to rest, reconnect and focus on wellbeing during incredibly challenging periods.

During her visit, Sarah spoke with staff about the difference Whiteleys makes and how the donation will directly support the families they work with. Hearing first‑hand about the charity’s impact gave colleagues the opportunity to reflect on the wider value of their fundraising – not just for the community, but for their own sense of purpose and wellbeing at work.
