Chair

I’ve spent most of my working life in the energy supply business, initially mainly involved with power system economics and pricing, contract negotiation and forecasting. I negotiated the contract for the supply of electricity to a number of major customers in the South East, including the channel tunnel before moving to the South West to head up a department responsible for forecasting and settlements. In this role I helped to establish a data collection company that managed the electricity data for all the major electricity customers in the country and was a main board director.  I also worked for a number of national committees, which designed the systems necessary to allow competition in electricity supplies – a World first! I then project managed the £40M systems to enable this competition in my company.

Following on from this I was commercial director for a smart metering company and then a district councillor for six years. I am now the chair of two local charities and the community library.  I’m involved in a range of activities not to mention keeping up with five grandchildren!
