Dungeness A site
Councillor David Godfrey
Vice Chair
I was elected Vice chair of Dungeness Site Stakeholder Group in January 2017.
I lived on Romney Marsh (Lydd and New Romney) until aged 21 and have strong family links to the area. I attended Harvey grammar school, Folkestone before being employed on the Dungeness A Site construction.
I am a retired senior executive for a major oil company and am currently cabinet member of Folkestone and Hythe district council.
Coming from an old Lydd family I have a long history with Romney Marsh and recognise the benefits that have been provided by the Nuclear Industry. I am concerned by the impact of closure of the A and B stations and actively support the local MP and the district and county council’s to lobby for small modular reactors to be sited at Dungeness.
